There are a lot of unknowns in education right now, but one thing is for sure: students still expect an immersive, engaging learning experience during this new normal of online classes. Whether the fall semester will be 100 percent virtual, a social-distanced version of face-to-face or, most likely, a hybrid approach, the use of streaming lecture videos will be more relevant than ever. While the physical locations for these classes have changed from in person to online, the energy around them doesn’t have to.
We had the pleasure of hosting a webinar, How to Design Engaging Learning Environments in This Digital World, with Dr. Rebecca Frazee (@rebeccafrazee). She’s an instructor at San Diego State University and manager of FLEXspace.org, the Flexible Learning Environments eXchange.
The webinar is a treasure trove of tactical tips for faculty and instructional designers to prepare for this new normal. We added the #HyFlex hashtag to our webinar to encourage healthy discussion and we thought we’d share a few of the highlights. These are just a glimpse at what you can learn. Be sure to watch the webinar on-demand, here!
HyFlex is certainly not a new term, many users have had surrounding tweets after our webinar that pertain to the HyFlex learning environment:
