The National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ), a longtime user of Mediasite Events, traditionally only had a supplemental virtual component to its in-person annual conference. However, more than ever it is crucial that healthcare professionals are provided valuable education and an opportunity to step away from their daily routine to re-energize and engage with other like-minded professionals.
So, travel constraints and a pandemic weren’t going to stop NAHQ from providing relevant and highly curated content during its NEXT 2020 conference in September – they just needed to rethink the format.
NAHQ held its first fully virtual conference with Mediasite Events’ complete virtual event platform.
Mediasite Events’ virtual platform includes everything from a customizable event website with live and simulated live session streaming, content catalogues, e-commerce options for sponsors, virtual expo halls, e-poster sessions, interactive features like live chat and polling and more.
Healthcare professionals from around the country earned continuing education credits by watching simulated live and on-demand content via Mediasite. The Mediasite Events team provided speaker concierge services to event speakers to ensure quality and seamless content was recorded and shared virtually.
“We were very pleased with the virtual experience Mediasite Events helped us create and are already planning the virtual component of our 2021 event,” said Jacki Weiglein, Director of Events, NAHQ. “The user experience had to be easy to navigate, engaging and customer friendly, and Mediasite Events was everything we needed. It allowed us to emphasize our educational content first and foremost. Content is still key, even for a virtual event, and Mediasite creates an immersive and engaging experience for the viewer.”
The fully virtual conference set attendance highs amid the pandemic, and Weiglein believes that Mediasite Events platform’s ease of use and accessibility ensured the high volume of users had a positive experience.
“Our attendees absolutely loved the experience, and regardless of what the next year brings, we are going to up our virtual game going forward,” she said. “The experience was extremely intuitive for our attendees and allowed us to put our continuing education content front and center.”
NAHQ also focused on ensuring a best in class event that was the most value for the customer by offering increased continuing education credits but not increasing the price of the event.
“We increased our content, added heavy hitting high caliber speakers to the schedule, offered extended access to the platform, and didn’t increase the price. We recognize healthcare professionals are busy and budgets are tight so we wanted to create an event that met their needs,” Weiglein said.
NAHQ offered their attendees unlimited access to the platform for approximately six weeks after the event ended.
“The Mediasite Events team was awesome and responded to our requests at all hours of the day and night. After just one conversation together, we were speaking the same language – they took the time to listen and learn about NAHQ and our event goals, then helped us to create a platform that would achieve our goals,” Weiglein said. “The entire process could not have gone smoother.”
