Organizations across the globe are being forced to cancel in-person events due to mandated social distancing. However, the savviest event planners know that technologies like streaming video are incredibly powerful ways to keep the show going while still maintaining their attendees’ safety at home.
The University of Wisconsin E-Business Consortium (UWEBC) is a perfect example of this, having been no stranger to the idea of a virtual event. The UWEBC, a university-industry partnership comprising Wisconsin’s leading companies, hosts both a large-scale annual conference and more than 50 in-person learning events throughout the year. UWEBC’s collaborative learning community helps companies stay on the leading edge of emerging technologies and best practices in customer service, IT, marketing and supply chain management, and for more than a decade, the UWEBC’s team has expanded access to its learning events by streaming them live and on-demand with Mediasite.
Now, as the global pandemic creates mounting pressures to keep members informed and provide opportunities to stay connected, the UWEBC is ramping up its events. The UWEBC is one of the many organizations around the world the Mediasite Events team is helping right from its Madison, Wis. office. Since going completely virtual, the UWEBC is continuing to serve its valuable mission by delivering real-time virtual learning experiences to its members.
Jen Anderson, UWEBC’s Member Services and Events Director, said: “Working in partnership with the Mediasite Events team has ensured that the technical aspects of the virtual event are in good hands, allowing the UWEBC team to focus on other meeting logistics and our members’ experience.”
All UWEBC events through August 31 as of now, will be completely virtual.
