We are proud to announce that four powerhouse Mediasite users made the list of the top 50 two-year online community colleges this year!
The top 50 list, put out by College Consensus, considers factors like online-degree offerings, user friendliness of learning platforms and flexibility for students. College Consensus researched 1,000 top community colleges that offer many fully online degree and certificate programs that have eased the lives of thousands of students.
Here’s a look at the Mediasite schools that made the list:
Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C): Tri-C offers many fully online and blended learning courses, powered by Mediasite. College Consensus noted Tri-C’s flexible program that lets students “continue working and living their busy lives” while taking classes. The college has always been ahead of the curve with its online program, greatly attributed to its impressive faculty training initiatives. During the pandemic, it swiftly created even more intensive virtual faculty trainings to ensure they are comfortable with teaching remotely. It also created videos for students about how to shift to learning from home and using Mediasite to create video assignments. Learn more about Mediasite at Tri-C here.
Lenoir Community College: Lenoir has been a Mediasite user for 10 years. The college has 54 online degree programs in multiple areas of study including business, criminal justice and emergency medical science and has instituted ways for students to access online resources similar to in-person classes. Students can work full time while pursuing a degree.
Great Basin College: Great Basin College has been a Mediasite user for nine years and is a champion of distance education. Its programs are comprehensive and allow for easy transition into four-year schools. As many of the other colleges on this list, the college’s programs allow for flexible degree completion integrated into everyday life. The integration of Mediasite with their Interactive Video class offerings has allowed Great Basin to adhere to their mission to “provide superior, student–centered, post-secondary education in rural Nevada.”
Pitt Community College: Pitt has been a Mediasite user for three years. It offers affordable and high-quality education that is easily transferrable to a four-year degree program. Its online learning is as demanding as its in-person curriculum and adaptive to all kinds of learning styles. The online resources help keep students connected and form a unified virtual learning community.
